Materia has commercialized over 20 metathesis catalysts and regularly develops others for use in specific applications. We offer the pioneering first and second generation catalysts developed by Professor Robert Grubbs at the California Institute of Technology as well as the first and second generation versions of these catalysts with the Hoveyda ligand, developed by Professor Amir Hoveyda at Boston College. These four catalysts are shown below.
 

 

 

Primary metathesis catalysts


No one catalyst works best for every application. As such, Materia offers targeted catalysts for a range of synthetic methodologies. Targeted catalysts include those that perform well under low or high reaction temperatures, on hindered olefin substrates, and with slow or fast initiations. Four examples of these targeted catalysts are shown below.
