Materia’s primary goal is to maximize the market penetration of its catalyst technologies. As such, Materia co-develops products under “win-win” partnering structures.
The Company’s largest co-development relationship to date has been with Cargill, one of the world’s largest private companies. In this collaboration, Materia and Cargill are developing metathesis based routes into specialty chemicals using renewable natural oils rather than petroleum as the primary feedstock.
In the pharmaceutical industry, Materia and Peakdale Molecular are co-developing several series of novel intermediates. The first series, launched in late 2007 (http://www.peakdale.co.uk/NewProducts.htm) provides drug scaffolds that were previously unavailable due to challenges with traditional synthetic techniques.
By structuring relationships with significant financial incentives for both parties, Materia and its partners benefit from metathesis’ fundamental capabilities. Please contact John Kibler, Director of Corporate Development, at
