Senior Manager - Maintenance and Projects, Operations

Summary

Job Purpose:

Manage the site's Maintenance Team and assigned projects that support the Company's growth plans, manufacturing process improvements, PSM & EHS compliance needs and facility improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Maintenance personnel and support their career development by providing subject matter expertise on the chemical manufacturing plant equipment
  • Maintenance and repair of the manufacturing equipment and facilities to insure reliable and compliant operations
  • Maintain and improve the Mechanical Integrity and Preventative Maintenance programs
  • Maintain and improve utilization of the CMMS
  • Provide technical expertise on equipment operation, repair and maintenance
  • Provide technical expertise on project designs, procurement, and commissioning on new manufacturing processes
  • Develops project scopes, prepares cost estimates, funding requests and is accountable for all phases of the project including cost management
  • Participate in PHAs and other hazard analyses on existing and new processes
  • Make ERP (JDE) purchasing and project data entries, monitor project progress through scheduling and other tools, perform project status reporting, and control spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments
  • Clearly communicates within Operations and the Company on project progress status reports and gap closure plans
  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external personnel to effectively support business needs
  • Works to support and improve all environmental, safety, health and PSM requirements through interactive engagement with employees and coaching to reduce at-risk behaviors
  • Manage contractor and supplier performance

Qualifications + Experience:

Education:

B.S. Degree or equivalent experience or 5 - 7 years' experience required

Experience:

  • Must possess a broad-based knowledge on the trouble shooting, repair and maintenance of common chemical manufacturing equipment, plant operations and standard industry practices
  • Must possess broad-based knowledge on project management, unit design, procurement, construction and commissioning commonly obtained by experience managing green field or brown field projects up to $10MM within the petrochemical industry
  • Must have Operations or Engineering experience working at a Process Safety Management site
  • Experience supervising personnel and managing contractors, vendors and suppliers

Functional Skills:

  • Strong operational bias, strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong project management skillset, ability to establish project plan timelines, milestones and execute them on time and within budget
  • Effective communication on technical items and with subordinates and co-workers
  • Utilization of CMMS and ERP systems
