The poly-DCPD business unit provides OEMs and part fabricators with poly-dicyclopentadiene (poly-DCPD)-based thermoset resin systems, application development support, and technical service in a variety of markets. We believe poly-DCPD’s greatest commercial value proposition is in structural composite applications and have accordingly focused our business development and discretionary R&D efforts in this area.

Formulated Resins – Materia provides high-performance, formulated thermoset resin systems based on its proprietary metathesis catalyst technology and complementary DCPD chemistry. These resins enjoy a number of attractive characteristics including high toughness, low weight, reduced cost, and a low carbon footprint. Standard resins are available for common processes such as RIM, RTM, VARTM and pultrusion. Materia also has experience developing custom formulations tailored to meet specific application requirements.

Application Development – Materia offers dedicated application-specific development services to its resin customers, including composite design and testing, molding demonstrations, process optimization, and part prototyping. By working closely with its customers, Materia is able to offer products and services that accelerate the development cycle and thus shorten the time frame for new product commercialization.

Technical Service - Materia provides technical support for composite fabricators and OEMs, including Materia laboratory-based development and demonstration as well as customer site-based trial and support work. An experienced team composed of experts in composite part manufacturing and poly-DCPD resin chemistry is also available to resin customers for process troubleshooting (phone, e-mail).
